There is everything you want on the Champs-Elysées-Joe Dassin
Strolling around the beautiful streets is one of the pleasant experiences one can endure into. And what can be the best feeling than gazing at the beauty of the most beautiful avenue in the world? I am talking about the Champs-Élysées of France. Let me give you a quick tour of the majestic view of this historical place.
Champs-Élysées was built in 1667 and located in North West Paris in the 8th Arrondissement. This 1.2 miles long road is almost 2km and connects the monument ‘Arc de Triomphe’. Arche de Triomphe was built by Napolean to celebrate European War. Gardens with fountains surround the eastern part. On the other hand, the western part is bordered by theatres and cinemas .
The name Champs-Élysées when translated to English will be ‘Elysian Fields’. This street is a glamorous shopping destination of brands and exclusive cafes. The German army marched here in 1940 and the Allied army in 1944.
Home for celebrations
The street also witnesses the largest military parade in Europe that is held every year on Bastille Day. Likewise, there are Lighworks on New Year’s eve and they celebrate the victory of the World Cup here. It feels like heaven when thousand of bulbs are hanging around in the trees at Christmas.
Home to cinemas, the street ends at the Place de la Concorde, one of the beautiful Paris square. Closer to Concorde, there are just trees and is quiet than commercial area.
